Mrs Casey and Mrs Brennan Retirement
As we all begin to unwind from another academic year, 2025 will be particularly poignant for two of our dearest staff, Mrs Casey and Mrs Brennan, who both retire after many, many years of dedicated service to Tannaghmore PS and the wider community. Mrs Casey started teaching in Tannaghmore on Monday 19th October, 1987. For those of you with a good memory, you will remember this day as “Black Monday”, but thankfully it wasn’t a portend for Mrs Casey and her long career ahead!
During this time she taught in P5 and P6. She was a brilliant art coordinator and for the past few years she looked after all testing in school, as assessment coordinator. We will always remember Mrs Casey as being quiet, hardworking, professional, highly organised and as a role model teacher. Eilish loved teaching and was happiest in the classroom. She is so proud of Tannaghmore and so proud to be a past pupil following on the great traditions of teachers in the McKavanagh household. The day she started teaching her loving aunt, Ms Bernadette McKavangh also left, so it is now very fitting and poignant that as she prepares to leave school, the McKavanagh name stays strong in Tannaghmore as her own daughter Eimear and niece Orla start their careers with us. So, Mrs Casey from everyone in Tannaghmore,
go raibh mile maith agat to you for everything you have done for Tannaghmore PS and the wider community over the last 38 years.
Mrs Brennan, one of our valued classroom assistants also leaves this year. Mrs Brennan started in September 2002 and again those with a long memory, will see her as a lucky charm, as Armagh went on to win their first All Ireland three weeks later!
Mrs Brennan will be fondly remembered as a warm, kind, hardworking assistant and no task was ever too big. Everything was done with a great big smile. Jayne it was a pleasure working with you and you will be greatly missed. Enjoy your retirement and on behalf of everyone in Tannaghmore go raibh mile maith agat.
