Our Lady's Grammar School - A message for P7 girls.

2nd Feb 2021

2 February 2021

Dear P7 pupil,

I hope that you are keeping safe and well at this difficult time.

Normally, I would be able to invite you, your parents and Primary School teachers to visit Our Lady’s to see around the school, in person, but that is not possible, this year.

In the weeks ahead you have to make important decisions on which post-primary schools to apply to for September entry. To give you an idea of what Our Lady’s has to offer, we have made a Virtual Open Day video, which you, your parents and teachers can watch by following this link:

You can also find out more about Our Lady’s by visiting our school website at: https://ourladysgrammar.co.uk/ where you will be able to read our prospectus and learn more about us.

As you will see in our video, Our Lady’s is an academic school proud of our excellent exam results and position as one of the top Grammar Schools in NI. We have high expectations of our pupils and expect them to work hard to achieve of their best. Our classes are one hour in length and Year 8s spend between 1 and 1.5 hours per night on their homework. If you feel Our Lady’s is the right school for you, we look forward to receiving your application.

Pupils in Newry and Mourne are fortunate to have so many wonderful educational establishments in their area and I wish you well in your future studies, whether at Our Lady’s or at another school.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I wish you every success in the next stage of your education.

Kind regards,

Mrs Fiona McAlinden

Principal
