Our wonderful past pupils Martin and Jay and the Scottish Premier League Cup

1st Jun 2026

Today, we were delighted to welcome back one of our most famous former pupils and Celtic’s biggest fan, Jay Beatty, along with his father, Martin, who brought the Scottish Premiership Trophy to our school. Our pupils gave Jay a hero’s welcome as he entered the hall dancing, smiling, and high-fiving his many fans. Martin spoke to the children about what it means to be special, unique, and different. Through sharing Jay’s life journey, he delivered a powerful message about empathy, understanding, and inclusion. His inspiring words encouraged our pupils to celebrate their own individuality and to appreciate the differences that make each person unique. As Martin reminded us, the world would be a very boring place if we were all the same. Following a lively question-and-answer session, pupils had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with Jay and the Scottish Premiership Trophy, creating memories that will last a lifetime. A sincere thank you to Martin and Jay for taking the time to visit us. They are two remarkable former pupils whose story continues to inspire hope, resilience, courage, and inclusivity. Their message reminds us all that our differences are something to be celebrated and that every individual has something special to offer.
